First of its kind
While Diamond-on-Insulator (DOI) concepts are well recognised in academic and research entities, scaling to industrial production has faced significant challenges. DoiTeQ bridges this critical gap between laboratory demonstration and commercial viability.
The DoiTeQ platform facilitates the bonding of large-area, high-quality diamond layers onto conventional insulating substrates, enabling the use of large and uniform diamond layers rather than limited, fragmented patches only a few hundred micrometres in size. It also preserves the exceptional quantum properties of diamond, while enabling compatibility with standard CMOS and micro/nano-fabrication technologies. This enables the scalable, industrial-level production of diamond-based quantum devices, including colour-centre qubits and photonic components.
Revolutionary technique
DoiTeQ uses a smart-cut-based process to transfer ultra-thin diamond layers onto insulating substrates. This enables precise control over layer thickness and the formation of high-quality interfaces, which are essential for quantum device performance and scalable manufacturability.
